Dr.Vahit GÖKTAŞ is currently Chairman and also professor at the Department of Mysticism, Institute of Social Science, Ankara University in Turkey. He is also senior research fellow at the Institute of Social Science, University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). On the other hand, He is visiting professor at the faculty of Theology, Osh State University, (Osh, Kyrgyzstan) from 2011; visiting professor at the University of Jordan (Amman, Jordan).
He holds his graduation and post-graduation from the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University, Turkey with outstanding achievement in 2000 and 2002 respectively. He holds his PhD degree from the department of Mysticism, Ankara University, Turkey in 2007. However, he received intensive training course as a Modern Arabic Language course from the Jordan University, Jordan in 2002. He did the research for five months in 2009 and three months in 2010 at Toronto in Canada.
He has a depth specialty in some crucial social research as an Islamic legislation, Sufism, Islamic contemporary challenges in both the Muslim-majority countries and the West, Philosophy of Social Science, comparative philosophy, Modern Islamic Political Thought and also Modernization in the Muslim world.
