The Centre for Research and Policy Studies (CenRaPS) conducts basic research with a focus on problems of modern societies in a globalized world. The research is theory-based, problem-oriented, often long-term and mostly based on international comparisons.

Our mission is to foster research that addresses critical human and social problems at the local, national, and international levels. We do so by bringing together researchers from different disciplines around emerging areas of study, and by providing consultation, research support, peer-reviewed articles, assistance to new generation researchers, publishing academic periodicals, and academic journals, and services to social scientists in a structured way.
