Dr. Md. Aliur Rahman is an RTI Specialist, working for promoting People’s Right to Information and human resource development in media and Journalism in Bangladesh. He is the Chairperson of the Journalism and Media Communication (JMC) Department of Green University of Bangladesh. He has 19-year professional experiences in the field of mass communication and journalism training where about 11 years with the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) as Trainer and Senior Trainer. He has also worked as Part-time Faculty in the Department of Film and Media of Stamford University Bangladesh since January 2006 to December 2011. He has worked with the Daily Prothom Alo, the leading and highest circulated Bengali newspaper of Bangladesh, as the Reviewer and Trainer; prepared daily review reports, developed editorial guidelines and individual Job descriptions of Journalists, conducted the Needs Assessment study and coordinated research and training activities over there. As an academic and professional in the areas of media, journalism and communication, Dr. Rahman often delivers lectures in universities and national level organizations, namely Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur; Information Commission, Bangladesh; Bangladesh Press Council; National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC); Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Comilla and Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogra.
